Episode 32, Russian Serial Killer Cop: Mikhail Popkov Part 1
I....where do I even begin with this case. It's hands down the craziest shit I've ever heard in my life. They say the devil is in the details, and the details of this case are what blew my mind. Honestly, you just have to listen.
From 1992 to 2010, Popkov killed a confirmed 83 (but most likely many more) women and young girls between the ages of 19 and 50. He kidnapped, raped, tortured, murdered, and mutilated them.
From a police cover-up, to the absolutely HARROWING stories of two survivors, to the things he did to cover his tracks, to his antics recently in the press, this story is the wildest shit I've ever covered.
Buckle the fuck up for Part 1, and let's discuss the atrocities of a modern day monster: Mikhail Popkov.
